# Free Mints

Offering 1 free mint to holders of other collections is an excellent promo tactic. Communities appreciate rewards for their members and are more likely to cross-promote your launch in return.

While never completely "free" due to gas fees, do not let high gas deter free mint giveaways. Prices fluctuate and holders can claim when gas is lower.

To setup:

1. Use a site like [https://holders.art](https://holders.art/) to snapshot holders of a target collection.
2. Create an Artblast invite list and paste addresses from the snapshot.
3. Set the **wallet limit to 1** to allow 1 claim per holder.

Major collections run free mint promotions, so you should consider offering them too. Add snapshots of more communities over time.

For public free mints, also set a **list limit** to avoid bot nets draining supply. Public free mints tend to attract more bots than genuine fans. Instead, airdrop to member communities directly.
